Museum — Greyhound Month; stories about our greyhound past; how Grove City High School came to be known as the Greyhounds. Tell us your favorite April Fool’s Day prank.

MAY

Museum — Gold Star Families, Memorial Day. Military uniforms and artifacts. Century Village—Open House, Saturday, May 26 from 2-4 p.m.

JUNE

Museum — Beautiful bridal dresses, one over 100 years old.
Century Village — Heritage Day Celebration June 2. Event is free and open to the public.

JULY

Museum — Independence Day. Display by the Daughters of the American Revolution remembering local Revolutionary War veterans.
Century Village — Open House, Saturday, July 28 from 2-4 p.m.
Century Village — Annual Yard Sale and Bake Sale slated at the Village July 7 from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. Community residents can rent space. Watch our Facebook page (SWFCHS) for more information.

AUGUST

Museum — Did you know during Prohibition many local families brewed their own beer at home? Since International Beer Day is Aug. 3, the museum thought it appropriate to have a display and retell stories about how local residents were not deprived of their favorite drink.
Century Village — Open House, Saturday, Aug. 25 from 2-4 p.m. Tours are open to the public at no charge.

SEPTEMBER

Museum — For Labor Day. Local businesses over the years.
Century Village — Open House, Saturday, Sept. 22 from 2-4 p.m.

OCTOBER

Museum — German-American Heritage Day. Grove City’s German influence. Breweries, bottles and beer steins.
Century Village — Old Time Harvest Day, Sunday, Oct. 7, 1-5 p.m., open to the public.

NOVEMBER

Museum — Holiday season. Museum closed Thanksgiving Day and the Friday after Thanksgiving. Veterans Day; military presence.

DECEMBER

Museum — Christmas Tour of Century Village, Grant-Sawyer House and Museum Saturday, Dec. 8 from 4-8 p.m. All historic locations will be decorated for the holiday season.

Group Tours

Grant-Sawyer House — Tours of the Grant-Sawyer House are available beginning in March, 2018. They can be scheduled on Tuesdays, Thursdays, or Saturdays by reservation only. The maximum size for any group is 10 people. Smaller groups can also be scheduled. The cost is $5 per person, children 12 and under admitted free. Call the Grove City Welcome Center and Museum, 614-277-3061 to make a reservation.

The Society is always looking for active members but if you are unable to be active at this time your membership can count as a donation to a charitable organization. Meetings are the first Tuesday monthly, 7 p.m., at St. John Lutheran Church, Grove City.
