Grove City Holiday Schedule

Thursday-Friday, Nov. 22-23

Grove City Welcome Center and Museum, 3378 Park Street, closed for the Thanksgiving holiday.

Nov. 26 thru Dec. 2

Santa’s Mailbox will be located this year in front of the Grove City Welcome Center and Museum, 3378 Park St. All letters will be answered. Leave a self-addressed, stamped envelope to receive a letter from Santa.

Saturday, Dec. 1

Grove City Christmas Celebration, a full day of holiday activities in the Grove City Town Center from 10 am until 8 pm. Activities sponsored by the City of Grove City, Heart of Grove City and the Southwest Franklin County Historical Society. Shopping, Santa visits, live entertainment and night parade.

Mistletoe Market—10 am-8 pm. Unique, creative, one-of-a-kind holiday gift items, decorations, art and treats. All vendors inside City Hall and Town Center businesses.

Entertainment—Live music, performances, reindeer and an ice sculptor, will occur throughout the historic Town Center.

Secret Santa Shop—10 am-8 pm, Grove City Welcome Center and Museum.

Santa Visit–Children can visit Santa at the George Edge Music Park, Broadway at Park Street. Parents can take their own photographs or purchase a picture for a $5 contribution to T.W.I.G benefiting Nationwide Children’s Hospital.

Grove City Christmas Open House and Bus Tour

Historic Christmas Tour—1-5 pm. Visit the Grant-Sawyer Home, Century Village and the Grove City Museum, each decorated for the holiday season. One bus will depart from each of the three locations beginning at 1 pm for tour guided trips to the museum, Grant Sawyer Home and Century Village. If you prefer, visitors can travel by personal vehicle. The last boarding of a bus will be 4:30 p.m.

Chamber Singers—Holiday music performances at the Grant-Sawyer Home and at Century Village. Times will vary. Santa’s Reindeer—6-8 pm, at the southeast corner of Civic Place and Broadway.

Grove City Christmas Parade—7 pm nighttime parade, watch for Santa’s arrival. Fun event for the entire family.

Grove City Christmas Tree—About 8 pm after the parade. Mayor Stage and Santa will throw the switch and light the town center tree.

Firefighters 4 Kids—Donations of toys and gift cards for the Jackson Township Fire Department toy drive will be accepted at the George Edge Music Plaza. Benefits Franklin County Children’s Services.

Grove City Food Pantry—Donations of canned and non-perishable food items will be received at the George Edge Music Plaza. Items can also be dropped off at the food pantry on Columbus Street next door to the Grove City United Methodist Church.

Saturday, Dec. 1-9

Make and Take Crafts: Holiday Ornament Workshop, Saturdays 9:30 am until 6 pm; Sundays, 1-5 pm, Grove City Library, 3959 Broadway, www.swpl.org.

Saturday, Dec. 8

Grove City Community Winds Christmas Concert, 11 am, Grove City High School, 4665 Hoover Road. Please donate canned food for Grove City Food Pantry.

Monday-Tuesday, Dec. 23-25

Grove City Welcome Center and Museum, 3378 Park Street, closed for the Christmas holiday. Reopens Wednesday, Dec. 26.

Museum — Holiday season. Museum closed Thanksgiving Day and the Friday after Thanksgiving. Veterans Day; military presence.

Museum — Christmas Tour of Century Village, Grant-Sawyer House and Museum Saturday, Dec. 8 from 4-8 p.m. All historic locations will be decorated for the holiday season.

Group Tours

Grant-Sawyer House — Tours of the Grant-Sawyer House are available beginning in March, 2018. They can be scheduled on Tuesdays, Thursdays, or Saturdays by reservation only. The maximum size for any group is 10 people. Smaller groups can also be scheduled. The cost is $5 per person, children 12 and under admitted free. Call the Grove City Welcome Center and Museum, 614-277-3061 to make a reservation.

The Society is always looking for active members but if you are unable to be active at this time your membership can count as a donation to a charitable organization. Meetings are the first Tuesday monthly, 7 p.m., at St. John Lutheran Church, Grove City.
