The Wolves, the Bear and the Honey Tree

A story of legend and lore mixed with historical facts about the first settler and his family in what would become Jackson Township.

Grant arrived around 1803. Since he couldn’t identify his property, he built a log cabin and became a squatter on the banks of the Scioto River.
