August 30th, 1879 the Scioto Valley Pioneer Association was organized which was an auxiliary to the Franklin County Pioneer Association.

The Columbus Genealogical Society was organized 3 October 1930, with 71 persons present and 51 signing application cards of membership in the new Society. The officers were:
