The Grove City Jaycees were likely the first organization in Franklin County to show movies in a public park.

After the old Kingdom Theatre (now the LTOB and once known as the Grove Theatre) closed, the Jaycees acquired the projection equipment and installed it in the concession booth at Grove City’s Windsor Park, according to information provided by the late William Ferguson Sr.

The Jaycees were able to secure electric service from Columbus and Southern Power.  The electric company had to install several poles in the park to provide electric service.  Movie night was free to anyone who showed up; the Jaycees raised money to cover their expenses at their concession stand.  The old carbon projector from the theatre was expensive to operate.
